ABOUT ME
a little background
I am a death doula, thanatologist, and alternative burial advocate with 10+ years experience serving Brooklyn, Manhattan, and South Jersey. With a Bachelor’s in Thanatology and Master's in Visual Anthropology from USC, I bring deep cultural and academic insight to my work. My practice explores the intersection of care, culture, and technology, advocating for home-based, personalized end-of-life care. I am a proud member of ADEC, currently completing a new End-of-Life Doula certification at UVM. I began hospice volunteering at age 12 and have remained a passionate advocate since.
As the founder of SBF Creative, a consulting firm that specializes in creative solutions, I have the privilege of working with diverse and innovative clients across various industries, primarily focused on making end-of-life care discussions and education accessible. I also founded AI Death Doula, a startup focused on accessible, tech-supported death education, and run several YouTube channels and an end-of-life care focused blog, including contributions to Open to Hope. My specialty lies in holding space for complex end-of-life conversations, supporting alternative burial methods, and integrating tech to increase autonomy and comfort in death care.
